Originally from Lincolnshire, I moved to Sheffield to study Sports Technology (BSc). Following which I worked as a designer in the automotive industry for 8 years before returning to academia complete an MSc in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Nottingham.

My PhD project is around developing a method for measuring the relative movement between the prosthesis and the residual limb for lower-limb amputees. Once developed, this will be used to investigate how relative movement influences an amputee's gait, and how adjustable sockets can be designed to reduce this movement.

Outside of my research I am a keen cyclist, competing in the Cycle Speedway discipline. I also enjoy going climbing and playing hockey.
